Eagle LeCras to miss the season

The West Coast Eagles have suffered a major blow to their premiership chances with the news that star forward/midfielder Mark LeCras will miss the entire 2012 AFL Season following rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament (acl) in his right knee.

LeCras suffered the devastating injury at training on Thursday and although he was able to walk off the ground under his own power (after firstly being treated by the medical team) scans on Friday revealed that the worst.

West Coast’s leading goal-kicker back in 2010 (63) will now undergo a traditional knee reconstruction and not the radical LARS surgery and will be out of action for the next 12 months.

The 25-year-old who played an integral role in the Eagles incredible rise into the top four last season has kicked 234 goals in his 100-game career and was selected into the 2010 All-Australian team.

That same year LeCras won the club’s best and fairest where he kicked a career 63 goals and he backed that up with 47 majors last season as he was part of the young Eagles side that reached the penultimate week of the season.
