Champion race horse Black Caviar has sizzled as she maintained her 100 percent record with her 17th straight win in front of a packed crowd at Moonee Valley on Friday night.
Black Caviar ($1.04) easily accounted for her rivals as she made it 17 wins from her first 17 starts as she took out the Group Two Essendon Mazda Australia Stakes raced over 1200m.
The Peter Moody trained, Luke Nolan ridden horse jumped from barrier one and settled into third place until the 600m mark where she started to make her move and swung past her rivals and raced away to a three-length victory over the likes of Zedi Knight ($41.80) and Rock Classic ($67.40) who rounded up the placing’s.
Moody was delighted with his star thoroughbred as Black Caviar, who is scheduled to race at Royal Ascot in England later this year completed the race in a slick 1min09.44seconds.
“It’s great to see her back in great shape,” Moody told reporters after the race. “Hopefully it’s the start of a great six months.”
