Roosters extend Friend-ship

The Sydney Roosters have re-signed youngster Jake Friend, the 2011 Jack Gibson Medal winner, until the completion of the 2015 National Rugby League Season.

Friend, who earlier in his career had a number of run in’s with the legal authorities, has continued his resurgence as a serious rugby league professional with his on-field turn around completed by winning the clubs highest honour the Jack Gibson Medal in 2011.

The 21 year old who has already played 69 first grade games has continued to cement his position in the tri-colours who continue to build their side for premiership glory in the upcoming seasons with their recent signings including James Maloney.

“I love this club” Friend said on Wednesday when making the announcement of his re-signing with the club.

“I am excited for the future, and am excited to extend my stay with the club I have made some great friends here and it is great to be able to focus on the future at the club.”
